List of Idiosyncrasies (FEATURE BLOG!)

So, I'd like to begin this post by stating that little old Blog of the Sledgehammer happens to be the Frankie's Forums Feature Blog! Just wanted to put it out there. Moving on to the main point of this post now, which is this: Idiosyncrasies.

Since Vanessa and I have free periods at the same time, we have been having conversations more and more of late. In one of our recent parlances, Vanessa noted that I have a funny way of typing things. Apparently I should keep doing it, because it's fun to read. She then challenged me to legitimately use the word "idiosyncrasies" in my next blog post. So here I go, with The Blog of the Sledgehammers List of Idiosyncrasies.

Now, first thing's first, I had to actually...go and find out what idiosyncrasies actually means. I hit up my old friend, Dictionary.com, which gave me the following to work with:

id⋅i⋅o⋅syn⋅cra⋅sy

[id-ee-uh-sing-kruh-see, -sin-] Show IPA –noun, plural -sies.
1. a characteristic, habit, mannerism, or the like, that is peculiar to an individual.
2. the physical constitution peculiar to an individual.
3. a peculiarity of the physical or the mental constitution, esp. susceptibility toward drugs, food, etc. Compare allergy (def. 1).

Well. That was certainly intelligible. In any case, I decided to focus mainly on the first definition, being "a characteristic, habit, mannerism, or the like, that is peculiar to an individual."
Hmm. What can we take from that? I would understand it to mean a trait or quirk which makes a person unique and individual. Well, how about we list the idiosyncrasies of the people in my circle of friends? Here goes:

Myself: Apparently I type and write things using odd turns of phrase and uncommon words and usages. So there you go.
Jake: Other than his obsession with Wicked!, he has a habit of formulating plans for world domination.
Dwyer: Really? Too many to list, I'd have to say. Faux homoeroticism would have to be up there, though.
Josef: Surprising as it may be to those who do not know him, Josef listens to jungle, drum & bass, early 90's rave, acid house, house, big beat, IDM, dubstep, breakbeat and chiptune, which are most definitely NOT sub-genres of techno, and, I am being told, are electronic dance music genres in their own right.
Koop: Has an almost unhealthy obsession with hit TV sitcom, How I Met Your Mother. A show which, may I say, is legend...wait for it...
Emily: Is adept in the art of Tae-Kwan-Do. Also, is partial to kitties.
Amy: Listens to Folk-Metal
Flick: Frequently suffers from Freckle-Shaped Exploos
Millie: May or may not be a Giraffemus.
Jenny: Is apparently the one true Citrus Fruit Expert. Also is very good at playing piano.
Vanessa: Reads books with convoluted plotlines, which require huge amounts of suspension of dibelief.
Caity: Is inseparable from James.
James: Is inseparable from Caity.
Trent: Is inseparable from Dean
Dean: Is inseparable from Trent.
Rhiannon: Is easily distracted by pumpkin cups.
Lydia: Has been both a teapot and a Russian spy.

I could go on. I'd love to, to be honest. But I think I'll limit it to my closer friends, people I have known for longer. So, to sign off, I finish this post with the following sentiment:

...dary!

Much Love to All (In a totally manly way)
Happy Birthday for Wednesday, Emily

The Return of the Sledgehammer

So hiya my peoples. If you're still there. My deepest and sincerest apologies for the unexpected and unannounced hiatus. Our computer came back from the fix-it man shop, and it had about 12 virii and a trojan and a tonne of malware/spyware. That makes a yummy, truthful cake of delicious computer destruction. But everything's back and in order now, so I can start back up with my *cough* regular *cough posting schedule.

That will be all,
The Benevolent (Hopeful) Future King of Random,

Half A Week in the Life

And so the first half week of the holidays ends. Four sleeps until Chrissy and I can feel the electricity in the air. Mostly due to that faulty power outlet. Hehe.

I'm so funny.

What? What? Oh, right. Blog. *ahem*

So yeah.
During this week, I have learnt 2 valuable lessons. I shall list and explain them here for everyones benefit.

1) Some people just can't get along

It's true. Never have, never will. My lovely teachers of this subject were my ever-warring younger brothers, who seriously do not give anyone a minutes peace from the moment they roll out of bed in the mroning to the moment they fall asleep at night. Which leads me to number...

2) Never, and I mean NEVER, sit in the back middle seat on a car-trip of any length

Again, my lovely brothers taught me this lesson. The only seat left was back-middle, and I was therefore put snugly between the two. Who then proceeded to make my trip to Medowie utter hell. My one-year-old cousin was puzzled as to why I wasn't as happy as everyone else. Well, Noah, someday when you read this, you'll understand.

Take heed, younglings and padawans. use this knowledge and you too will someday become a sage such as I. Anywho, that's about all I jhave to say so catcha round, I guess.

Un-Singularity

Well hey there, everybody, how ya doin'? Good? Good. Thanks for coming out!

Main point of this here post is to tell you all the following:

I am no longer not without not being single!

If you can figure that out, and don't already know what I'm saying, YOU WIN! Of course, since everyone reading this already knows, nobody wins. Don't you all just feel so sad now?

This post is kinda lacking good materila. Um. Stuff about the leadership day and stuff got covered by everyone else already, and to be quite honest i really pretty boring to talk about.Umm...I already did the whole got a girlfriend bit. Got no terrible jokes to tell right at the mo. Nope, I got nothin. Ah well.

I guess I'll just talk about the importance of jumping, shouting "Cthulhu" and hailing the Almighty Bob.

That and knowing the difference between rock and rap. That's all important, as I think we all know. For the record rock is better. If you think otherwise, I hate to tell you but you're wrong.

Anywho, I've not got alot left to say. Pretty good assonancer there, eh?

So I guess it's

Ciao for now,

Happy B'Day Ness!

So, it was the Loch Ness Monster's birthday party today, and it was pretty fun indeed. Go-karting, for the first time ever, was pretty cool. I was drifting around corners and all. But Jake, drive faster.

Then the beach, got absolutely smashed by waves, which was fun. Dwyer, I tried to learn to bodysurf, but I guess I'm not that quick a study. And I don't go to the beach much, either.

Finally, I had 2 discussions about no lifing and flirting, which led to this little tidbit from Aaron (Not McGowan, a different one)

Aaron: talkies
Me: What about?
Aaron: anything i have no life

Chris: And you think I do?
Aaron: lets have a life together
hmm that sounded weird

Tarocash

So I spent $170 on formal gear today.

One-hundred and seventy freakin' dollars. I'll look dashing, sure. It's a good outfit. But still. Pricey for a shirt/vest combo.

In other news, Emily seems to think she hates me. Right. Sure.

Apart from this, I have not a lot to say.

Ciao,

Kristov

Noncommital

Just now, in simultaneous MSN conversations, I demonstrated the frustration abilities of simply deferring to answer. It was most amusing, here's a transcript.

Excerpt from Conversation 1:

<8:19PM>Josef : know what? i'm changing my status

<8:19PM>Chris : Mmkay.

(Josef changes his status to read "12 Days Remaining, Chris")

<8:19PM>Chris : Til?

<8:19PM>Josef : see that?

<8:20PM>Josef : no, you have to ask someone out in that time

<8:20PM>Chris : Mmkay.

<8:20PM>Josef : so, you will?

<8:23PM>Josef : ???

<8:25PM>Chris : ...

<8:25PM>Chris : Maybe.

<8:25PM>Josef : *disapproving stare* most likely?

<8:27PM>Chris : Maybe.

<8:27PM>Josef : yes/no?

<8:27PM>Chris : Maybe.

<8:28PM>Josef : grrrr!

End Excerpt

So you see, in the space of 9 short minutes, Josef was reduced to the point of "Grrrr!"

Excerpt from Conversation 2

<8:17PM>Geoff : CHRIS

<8:17PM>Geoff : WHERE THE F--K WERE YOU

<8:17PM>Chris : Uhh, not at school?

<8:22PM>Geoff : i know

<8:22PM>Geoff : WHY NOT

<8:25PM>Chris : Because I was at home.

<8:25PM>Geoff : WHY

<8:27PM>Chris : Because I wasn't at school.

<8:27PM>Geoff : Chris

End Excerpt

This time 10 minutes were required and it seems that 9 minutes may be the physical threshold for this form of breaking people. I will do more study and get back to you.
